Staying Healthy This Spring with Ayurveda

According to Ayurveda, Spring season is the Kapha time of year. With springtime, the earth is coming back to life all around us, and the sheer magic of it all never ceases to inspire. However, some of us enjoy it less than others, thanks to the predominance of kapha dosha in the external world- favoring mucousy conditions such as allergies, sinus infections and respiratory ailments of all varieties. As we learn to recognize the cyclical rhythms of nature, we can begin to shift our diet and our activities to synchronize with the new season and avoid common seasonal imbalances. Join me to learn Ayurvedic principles and practices that can help us to transition into a healthier Spring season!

Please contact Holy Cow Yoga Center at (843) 769-2269 to register!

Ayurvedic Detoxification

Ayurvedic Detoxification

Detox is a word that is used a lot after the indulgences of the holiday season. Ayurveda takes a very unique approach to detoxification, teaching us first and foremost that our bodies detox on daily basis. However, once the indulgences have become habits, the aggravated dosha(s) that have built up can settle in and take hold. Depending on the imbalances of the individual, specific dietary modifications, herbs, and procedures may be used to bring the body back to a balanced state. Join me on Tuesday, January 9th at the SC Herbal Society's January meeting to learn more about the Ayurvedic approach to detoxification and when it is indicated.

Cost is $10 for non members; free for members (annual membership is $30).

In this class, you will learn Ayurvedic principles and practices that can help you to transition into a healthy fall and winter.

Meditation on OM

The Mandukya Upanishad describes four states of consciousness: waking, dreaming, deep sleep and the "fourth state", or turiya. Each of these states correlates with a segment of the divine syllable OM. Join me for an exploration of this concept, followed by a meditation that translates theory into practice.
